Instructional Design Thinking

Design Thinking is the latest buzzword these days, and it has become quite popular in instructional design too. But is it okay to apply the Design Thinking process “as is” to the design of learning material? Or, should it be customised? What about our very own ADDIE framework? Isn’t that adequate?
