What you will Learn ?
Is instructional writing the same as creative writing or technical writing? Are there any frameworks that can be used for scripting/storyboarding? Is scripting/storyboarding for instructor-led training (ILT) different from scripting/storyboarding for an E-Learning module or a video tutorial? Scripting an Instructional Unit is an online course that addresses all these questions. The course also covers how to apply the following frameworks to develop scripts/storyboards: Gagne's Events of Instruction, Kolb's Experiential Model and Merrill's First Principles of Instruction. In addition, the course guides you through the process of developing storyboards for explainer videos, and creative storyboards that integrate stories, scenarios and case studies.

Informative . Thanks
This course is extremely useful for the beginners who wish to start their career as an instructional designer
This course will introduce you to the different types of scripting frameworks and will give you an idea of effective usage of specific framework while developing course materials
Short and to the point .The principles are presented well to understand
I is a good course
As stated in the teaser, instructional writing is not the SAME as creative writing. Purnima has explained this simply and clearly in this training. She has explained the role of creative writing in developing instructional material through a niche skill: writing for video-based training.
This training is highly recommended for all instructional designers, as it ties theories with examples for each instructional unit delivered. The Exhibits are my favorite!
The course is really insightful. It provides practical guidelines to be learnt for scripting. It acts like a mock test before the actual assignment. Really great course.
By the time you finish this course, you can actually look at any part of a lesson, topic or module and correctly tell, which events of Gagne’s events of instruction or which step of Kolb’s cycle it aps to. I think that’s what is called objectives met successfully, both for the creators of the course as well as the learners. And this is no mean feat. Thank you Purnima and Ruchi.
The course ‘Scripting an Instructional Unit’ does pretty much the same as Gagne’s event ‘Enhancing retention and transfer’. Purnima and team ensured that all our learnings (of theories and concepts) are put to test through detailed assessments and assignments. The course builds on the scripting abilities of the learner and gives an insight into how the same content could be delivered in a number of ways. Well done!
I have done part one and two and found it helpful and insightful. Helps in fulfilling knowledge gaps and clarifies ID concepts.
The course has both theoritical as well as practical aspects, which makes it easy to understand the difference between various theories.
Informative and interesting flow of information. Something new and useful for a fresher in ID.
It’s a helpful course.
Even though this course is short but it provides vast and valuable insights into learning models, and different types of Storyboards. This is an excellent and informative course, I enjoyed learning it.
this course gives you the opportunity to learn a lot of what you know but may have not applied in your work. It gives you the practical aspect of each model along with the ways how to use them
One of the finest course that I have completed so far with ID mentors.
From the topics covered, to examples given, to job aids, to samples of storyboard, ILT, facilitator guide, to an ingenious assessment – too good 🙂
The multimedia course provided a comprehensive introduction to multimedia design and production, covering a wide range of multimedia elements, tools, and techniques.
Best in the business
It was very immersive and engaging.
Great collection of templates – very handy to use
