What you will Learn ?
Gamifying learning is being increasingly explored as a way to motivate learners. This short course on gamification in learning is meant to help you develop a comprehensive understanding of the concept. It addresses the difference between gamification and game-based learning and explores how gamifying can enhance the learning experience. While games add an element of motivation, helps enhance decision-making capabilities, and allow creative application of learning theories, they also increase the cognitive load and hence must be used carefully. To address this aspect, the course presents an analysis of situations that will benefit or not benefit from gamification.

Course is comprehensive
Course content is great. But some of the questions in the assessment were too specific to IT sector to understand the feasibility and effectiveness in gamification. It is hard for people from non-tech/IT background.

An introductory topic on aspects of using engaging learning strategy through game
The course is short but touches upon the most important aspects of gamification. The examples provided in the course are highly useful in understanding the core concepts. The assignment provides an opportunity to apply the learning, although I personally found it to be a little confusing. Job aids and the white paper embedded within the course are extremely useful. Overall, a great learning experience for me.

This course covers an important aspect of learner engagement in instructional design. Key topics have been covered in a comprehensive manner.
The course is concise and focused, with no superfluous content. It respects the learner’s time with its strictly relevant content. I found it a perfect base to understand gamification and a great pointer to further exploration on the subject.
The course was focussed and provided the basic logic for using the strategy effectively.
I like how the concept is explained in meaningful chunks. I found the job aid, article and additional resources provided to be fun to read and understand. I specifically liked –
1) The examples provided in the framework, it is easy to relate to.
